Christian Biblical Spirituality

This website and the eBook it promotes is directed towards helping Christians understand more about:

  • The Spirit World that exists around us
  • Our personal spirit and soul, and how they control our phyical body, and
  • The need to produce spiritual fruit unto God that can only be accomplished by "Walking in the Spirit".

Christian Spirituality versus Christian Religion

In the early days of Christianity, the Bible records that the early church was so focused on Jesus Christ and of His coming kingdom, that God used the disciples of Jesus to perform many miracles that even the skeptics could not deny.

Scripture also records that the Apostle Paul performed many miracles wherever he went, and the religious Jews of the day hated the influence he had over the people.  They said of Paul and those who were with him:

(Acts 17:6)  "…These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also."

(Acts 19:11-12)  "And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: {12} So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them."

Therefore, I have wondered why Christianity today is so far removed from the special power and uniqueness that it once had.  It can be seen the scripture prophesied some 2,000 years ago that the Christians would refuse to believe the words in the Bible in these "last days" as stated below:

(1 Tim 4:1-6)  "Now the [Holy] Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times [such as in these times] some [Christians] shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; {2} Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; {3} Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. {4} For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: {5} For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. {6} If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained."

If you know of Christians or churches they attend which teach anything that contradicts the scriptures, then the Bible says they have, “…departed from the faith.”  If a church has forbidden anyone in it to marry or not to eat any meat, then it too has “departed from the faith.”

The point here is that if Christians prefer to argue about whether it is right or not to marry, to eat meats, or they refuse to accept the Bible as their sole reference point in their beliefs, then they haven’t progressed very far in their faith (Rom 14:17-18).  They simply have a belief system that will comfort them in this life, but will fail them after they die - in eternity (Rom 8:13-14).

This website is established to help Christians who value the scriptures to become more spiritual and therefore function more like the discipless did some 2,000 years ago when God used them to “…turn the world upside down.”

(Eph 5:24-27)· "Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ…That he [Jesus] might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be HOLY and WITHOUT BLEMISH."

Alternatively, if Christianity fails Jesus Christ who gave His life for it (Eph 5:25), He warns He will destroy it unless it fully repents.  If you doubt what I say about Christ destroying His church, Jesus is recorded as saying He would destroy the Christians in the church at Thyatira if they did not repent from their fornicating ways, as stated below:

(Rev 2:22-23)  "Behold, I [Jesus] will cast her [Jezebel and others in Thyatira who follow her] into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. {23} And I will kill her [Thyatira's] children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works."

When Christian churches become more like the Galatian church did by preferring to complete their Christian "walk" (or spiritual journey) in "the flesh" by transforming it into a convenient (religious) lifestyle that does nothing for Jesus or others who are dead in their sins (Gal 3:3-5), then this same warning Jesus applied to the church at Thyatira will apply to them.

The eBook presented here is aimed to help Christians to become more spiritually minded and focussed more on Jesus and to appreciate the many truths contained in the scriptures.

– The Christian Life is a Spiritual Journey

The focal point behind writing the eBook is Romans 8:1 that says:eBook cover

(Rom 8:1)  "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who WALK not after the flesh, but AFTER THE SPIRIT."

Most modern Bibles omit the second half of this verse that defines the spiritual requirements for NOT receiving “condemnation” from Jesus at the Judgment.  This means Christians MUST stop “walking in the flesh” and commence “walking in the Spirit.” How can Christians achieve this unless they understand what "walking in the flesh" and "walking in the Spirit" means?

My eBook titled, ‘The Christian’s practical guide to Walking in the Spirit,’ describes how God requires His people to ‘walk in the Spirit.’ It explains that it is possible to have a personal relationship with Jesus – and in doing so, become fully prepared to enter eternity with Him whenever He chooses to make the call (2 Cor 5:8-9).

– ‘Born Again’ Compared to being ‘Saved’

Many Christians have been told that once they are ‘saved,’ they are ‘born again.’ This statement is further from the truth than many realize! My eBook describes in detail what the differences are between these two requirements by using the words of Jesus to describe the differences. To see a sample of this topic – together with an artist’s impression of how the ‘Narrow Way’ (Matt 7:14) should appear to the born again Christian, I suggest you check out the eBook Chapter 5 extract to understand more about this vital topic.

– To tell The Truth about Creation!

There is much confusion about the six days of Creation and of the true age of the heavens and the earth. Scripture plainly states that:

  1. There was originally an “Old Heavens and Earth” – possibly where the dinosaurs lived.
  2. The “Present Earth” that occurred at Creation, to be followed by its future destruction by fire (2 Peter 3:7).
  3. The "New Heavens and Earth" (Isa 65:17; Isa 66:22; 2 Peter 3:13) are yet to come.

The Bible prophesied that “scoffers” and “ignorant teachers” will “mock” these and other Biblical truths in these "last days" (Jude 1:18; 2 Peter 3:1-9):

(Gen 2:4)  "These are the GENERATIONS [as in father, son, and grandson] of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens."

I urge you to examine the extract from Chapter 2 in my eBook, which describes what caused the remains of prehistoric mammoths discovered in the Siberian wilderness to be frozen in an upright (standing) position for thousands of years while undigested buttercups remained in their mouths and stomachs. After decades of scientific research to try to explain what caused this phenomenon, science continues to remain baffled; yet understanding the Bible and how God enacts His judgments reveals a likely possibility. Read more about this from the eBook Chapter 2 extract.

– To reveal the Nature of the Spirit World around us!

There exists an unseen (or spirit world) around us that we often struggle to comprehend. The eBook extract of Chapter 3 discusses the hierarchical structure of this unseen world, and reveals why God created the FIVE compartments of Hell.

I encourage you to have a look at the Chapter 3 to appreciate more about the types of spirit beings that inhabit this unseen, eternal, spirit world.

– To reveal how our Spirit and Soul Function!

The Bible says we are made in the "image of God" (Gen 1:26-27).  It also says that God has a personal soul - Matt 12:18, and a spirit - Psa 143:10; Isa 30:1.  To be made in His image, God has placed within each of our physical bodies our "inner man" (or 'soul') that contains our personal spirit (Num 16:22).

(Gen 2:7)  "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

Both the human spirit and soul perform different functions in determining what our physical body does. Very little is mentioned among theologians or church leaders about these vital 'spiritual organs' that function within us - yet understanding their purpose is essential to having a 'healthy inner man' (1 Tim 4:8-9) and of being able to "walk in the Spirit."

The eBook extract of Chapter 4 discusses the many aspects relating to our ‘inner man’ that every Christian should know.

– To reveal how ESSENTIAL it is to ‘Walk in the Spirit!’

Romans 8:1 states plainly that if a Christian is not "walking in the Spirit," then he or she is deemed to be "walking in the flesh" and therefore not eligible to enter Heaven.  This requirement is also emphasized in Rom 8:4-6 and Gal 5:16.

The Bible lists the "works of the flesh" in Gal 5:19-21, however it also condemns other ways that Christians can behave in this manner (Eccl 5:6; Phil 3:3; Gal 6:8; 1 Peter 4:2).

All Christians must therefore "put to spiritual death" their 'inner man' (or soul) that prefers to 'walk' according to 'carnal' (or fleshly) ways rather than spiritual ways:

(Rom 8:8-9)  "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. {9} But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

(Rom 8:5-6)  "For they [certain Christians] that are  [walking] after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. {6} For to be carnally [or fleshly] minded is [spiritual] death; but to be spiritually minded is [eternal] life and peace."

I would encourage anyone who feel they need to know more about the topics mentioned here, first read my eBook extracts, then some of the Articles to determine if what I say here is the truth.

God bless,

Alan
