An Analysis of the (post) 23rd September 2017 'Great Sign'

In the period leading up to this event, many Christians were posting videos and claiming that certain Biblical and other celestial events might happen on that date.

This page provides a link to a video that examines (from God’s perspective) what I believe He obtained from this event.  The following points summarize what the video endeavours to explain:

  1. Using this event, God wanted to know whether those of His people in these 'last days' would “tremble at His word” (Isa 66:2) when they realized this 2,000-year old prophecy would come to pass on the 23rd September 2017.

  2. For those who did and studied to find out more about it and shared their information with others – it is my belief that God was most pleased.  On the contrary, for those who dismissed the phenomenon for their own reasons and failed to respond in any positive way, God was not pleased.

  3. As for those who made videos and in doing so helped promote the event (especially amongst the Christian community) God was pleased – regardless of whether their claims were correct or not.  On the contrary, for those who failed to share this news with others, God was not pleased.  In other words, God was testing each Christian's heart to determine how they would respond to this prophecy being fulfilled.

  4. The significant point the video makes is that throughout all the generations since the days of Adam and Eve, God has allowed Satan to lie to, deceive and misrepresent God’s kingdom to God’s people in his efforts to rob God's people (and especially Christians) of their salvation by introducing heresies (Gal 5:19-21) into the church, such as:

    (a)  Denying the deity of Christ (John 1:1-2)

    (b)  Denial of the Trinity (Matt 28:19)
    (c)  Denying the virgin's birth of Christ (Luke 2:4-7)
    (d)  Denying the resurrection of Christ (Matt 28:1-6)
    (e)  Denying the Holy Spirit's 'gifts' (1 Cor 12:7-11)
    (f)  Celebrating ‘Good Friday’ instead of a Wednesday crucifixion (Matt 12:40)
    (g)  Belief in soul-sleep after death while rejecting that a literal Heaven and Hell exist (SDA and JW beliefs)
    (h)  Belief that Satan is a force and not a real (fallen) angel (Isa 14:12-15)
    (i)   Belief that ‘good works’ are not related to salvation (Eph 2:10; James 2:26)
    (j)   Belief that Grace is inexhaustible (Heb 12:14-16; Gal 2:22
    (k)  Infant baptism (Acts 8:36-37
    (l)   Speaking in tongues is essential for salvation (1 Cor 12:30)
    (m) Sabbath Day observance (Saturday) is essential for salvation (Col 2:16-17)
    (n)  The church has replaced Israel – Replacement Theology (Rom 11:1-2)
    (o) “Once Saved, Always Saved” or “Eternal Security” (1 Cor 15:1-2; Heb 10:26-31)
    (p)  Roman Catholic beliefs in the Eucharist (Heb 7:22 9:28)
    (q)  Priesthoods have not been abolished – Catholic, Orthodox, Mormon, etc. (1 Tim 2:5-6)
    (r)  Baptism is not necessary to be saved (Mark 16:16)
    (s)  The Rapture will not happen (1 Thes 4:15-18)
    (t)  It is wrong to judge others (1 Cor 2:15 6:4-5)
    (u) Christ's blood atones for ALL sins - past, present and future (Ezek 18:4; 1 John 3:6, 8; Heb 10:26-31)

There are MANY false beliefs about God and the Bible in the churches today. The above doctrines simply represent some of the many heresies to be found within today's churches.

  5. Since  the days of the early church, Satan has been allowed by God to “sift Christians as wheat” (Luke 22:31) using temptations (Matt 4:3-4; 1 Thes 3:5) and trials (1 Peter 4:12); however in these 'last days', it is my belief that God the Father has used the 23rd September Great Sign event in which to further categorize today's Christians into being either "Wise" or "Foolish Virgins" (Matt 25:1-13).  This is because they have so many more resources available to them such as bibles, concordances, videos, books, theological colleges, etc. - Luke 12:46-48 in which to learn more truth that God requires them to know than Christians had available to them in past generations (Matt 24:33-34; Mark 8:12; Luke 7:31-32; Luke 11:49-50).

Shortly when the Rapture occurs, The ‘Wise Virgins” will go to meet Jesus in the air, whereas the Foolish Virgins will be left behind to be persecuted by Antichrist and his people.  Today’s Christians will then have to choose between taking the Mark of the Beast (Rev 13:16-18) or of being beheaded to demonstrate their faithfulness towards Christ (Rev 20:4).

Therefore, I encourage you to view this 16-minute video below to appreciate what I believe is what really ‘happened’ on that day.

The image below has been updated to reflect what I believe is the new situation since the 23rd September 2017 event has passed.  The only difference to this illustration is that the 23rd September point has been moved back in time.  All other events remain unchanged.
